I don't know about you, but I'm absolutely in love with this Ikat print. I was lucky enough to find this beauty at a local thrift store, a lonely pillow case in need of some love. Or some DIY love anyway.
I was feeling crafty, but too lazy to drag out all of my sewing equipment so I created this NO - SEW laptop bag. Useful and fabulous.
Below are the instructions but feel free to alter the design to your liking - if you added a thick lining to the bag, it could easily become a clutch!

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Scissors
Pins
Hot Glue // Hot Glue Gun
A Crystal or Large Button
Leather String, Fabric or Lace
STEP 1: Measure your laptop to determine where to cut your pillow case. Mine is a MacBook Pro 15". I wanted to be able to fold the flap down to about half the length of the bag's body. Cut the top open part of the pillow case off - leaving the bottom closed part to create the bag.
STEP 2: Instead of sewing the rough edges of the bag, I cuffed them over twice, pinned around the length of the bag opening and hot glued the cuff down to the bag so it would not un-cuff while in use.
STEP 3: Create a lock closure for your bag.
I attached a crystal to some old leather straps and created a loop type closure by using two separate pieces - the first being the crystal attached to the leather strap, the second - A similar strap with a knotted loop large enough for the crystal to fit through.
I then hot glued the top crystal strap to the fabric and then tucked/glued the top into the cuff so the glue was not visible. I hot glued the bottom loop strap down the whole length of the bag to give it some strength.
simple and chic ;)
