WARBY PARKER AT IMOGENE + WILLIE

Monday, November 26, 2012

I'm so thrilled to announce the addition of a Warby Parker showroom within our fair city's iconic mom and pop jean shop, Imogene + Willie. Not like I needed another excuse to stop by - Imogene + Willie has always gone the extra mile to offer only the best of the best, which speaks volumes for the quality and consideration that goes into each Warby Parker product.

Warby Parker first lured me in this time last year as I was on the prowl for the perfect rounded frame to replace my old, dilapidated squared D&G frames I'd been holding on to for the past four years. I somehow happened upon one of their ads boasting their $95 frames and from that point forward was immediately hooked.

Everyone in my family was promptly notified that glasses had taken a seat at the top of my X-Mas list that year.

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that I could try on five pairs of glasses without ever setting foot in their New York showroom thanks to their Home Try On Program which lets you pick five of your favorite pairs and ships them to you to wear around for a week to decide which you like best. I'm all about convenience. Thanks WP, for making me lazier than I already am!

I haven't even mentioned the best part! There's more! For each pair of glasses you purchase, another pair is donated to someone in need. WP partners with non-profits and has to date provided 150,000 pairs of glasses. Find out more HERE.

Come celebrate the new show room, say hi, and enjoy browsing WP's  stylish fare - the WP Class Trip will be visiting Nashville Wednesday, November 28th through Sunday, December 9th from 11am - 7pm daily. You can find the dates and locations below:

TENNESSEE WEATHER //

Tuesday, September 25, 2012

Dear Tennessee Weather,
I'm feeling a little confused. One minute you're hot, then the next minute, you're cold. (INSERT KATY PERRY JOKE) "Should I wear a sweater today? Oh wait, now it's suddenly 85 degrees"

I am confused enough already about important things:
Boys. Politics. Which conditioner is better for my split ends.
I don't want to have to worry about you, too.

Please be more consistent, it makes my fashion choices easier.

Sincerely,
Katie

My favorite thing about this outfit is my top from Hand Made in LA. It was $200, but I got it amazingly marked down to $25 from Designer Renaissance in Berry Hill. If you haven't been there yet I can't stress enough how much you're missing out.

Every time I'm there I feel like I'm treasure hunting. So many amazing designers and so many fun things to browse through. The owner, Jodi is one of the most interesting and spirited people with such a good eye for design - everything the boutique carries is hand selected for quality and style by the sweetest group of girls. I love them all!

Marc Jacobs? Check. You want a little Louis Vuitton? You've got it. I mean - aside from the over priced department stores, where else can you find such an incredible selection of designer goods at such reasonable prices! I also scored an amazing 1980's Gucci wallet for $25 a few months back. It holds my entire life.

TOP: HAND MADE IN LA.
SHORTS: VINTAGE LEVI'S
BOOTS: URBAN OUTFITTERS
BAG: VINTAGE 1990'S LEATHER BOX PURSE

Also: My sweet hot pink neon undergarments: Urban Outfitters.

LEVY'S CLOTHIER FOR MEN + WOMEN

Monday, May 7, 2012

I was so excited to be invited by Levy's Clothier to come check out their beautiful spring styles this past week! Not only were the clothes spectacular and chic, but so were the sales associates! I also had the absolute pleasure of meeting Mrs. Ellen Levy, who gave me a great tour of the store and insight into how they choose the styles, colors and different collections for each season. Levy's really does take the cake for classic styles and timeless taste. Anyone of any taste or persuasion could shop there, and not only that, they have smart price points for everyone - which really made my heart happy.

One of my favorites of the afternoon was this beautiful creation (Above) by the ever so talented Carol Lipworth who seamlessly blends earthy and natural jewels with modern of the moment styles.

I can't think of an occasion or place where I couldn't wear these gold mineral / stone  bangles. I'd sleep in them too.

Mrs. Levy has quite an eye for beautiful colors - the whole store was overflowing with them!

If you haven't done your Mother's Day gift shopping yet, HEADS UP!

If however, you're a gift card type of kid, Levy's offers gift certificates so Mom can shop for herself. Now, only one thing remains that is more amazing than that, and that is the fact Levy's offers complimentary standard alterations on its regularly priced items.
HOW AWESOME IS THAT?

If you haven't visited Levy's yet, you're missing out on a piece of American History, as  Levy's is recognized as the oldest Men's store in America!

I'm really not kidding when I tell you they have the most stylish men's wear I've seen around these parts. It is safe to say it's the closest you'll get to New York without buying a plane ticket.

If you're a Brad Goreski fan and appreciate his wide array of perfectly printed bow ties - remember, imitation is the most sincere form of flattery!

And Ladies! Remember, bow ties can be for you too!

I'd also like to mention that Levy's was recently honored by Esquire Magazine and awarded "Best of Class - Gold Standard" in Men's specialty stores. This award is only given to an elite group of only thirty-five stores who are the best of the best in the business. Levy's has received this award biannually since 2001.

Now that I've wowed you with the sophisticated styles of Levy's, you should all visit their website HERE for more about this long lived and long loved store.
