SPRING FEVER: I'M GOING MAD!

Sunday, March 4, 2012

I've never been a patient person.  I like immediate results.  Sure I've tried to get all Zen, but even balancing my Chakras doesn't ward off my Spring Fever.  Only one thing exists in my mind that I want more than the whole of Givenchy's Resort 2012 collection, and that one thing is Spring.

I can't complain too much, as we've finally exited the awkward month of February, Thank Heaven, and the Spring Vernal Equinox (LEARN MORE HERE) will begin in the Northern Hemisphere on March 20, at 1:14 AM! Not too far off. I guess I can learn a little patience. Maybe.

Until then, I'm just going to pretend it's spring.

In some parts of the country it's still pretty chilly, so feel free to cheat Mother Nature by creating one of these absolutely adorable briefcase picnics thought up by Paige of Paigerussell.com. You can find a great picture tutorial on what I believe to be the holy of holies design site, Designsponge and proceed to enjoy the great outdoors anywhere!

Or you could add a LIVING MOSS carpet to your bathroom to liven things up a bit. This original idea comes from La Chanh Nguyen's Design Portfolio found HERE. What fun!

If Grass + Moss just aren't your thing, then why not get crafty with a paint can? You've heard of the expression 'Spring Cleaning' I'm sure, and thats because Spring is a great time to bring in the new, and kick out the old. Try breaking up the boring monotony of your eggshell white walls with some moody, broody spring time blue. Complete the look with some elegant paintings, framed embroidery or perhaps some decorative plates!

If you're like me and you're enjoying a lazy Sunday at home and you just don't feel like getting out paint or hunting down moss, this is an ideal solution to your Spring time blues. Try whipping together these colorful goodies instead, sit down and watch some quality Sunday night television and pretend it's 70 degrees outside. Find the recipe HERE!
